Abstract:
A decorated hat band with adornments was found in the tomb of Albert Huet, squire of the Saxons of Transylvania, in 1853, in Evangelic Church from Sibiu. On the hat band of brown velvet were sewn 15 gold appliques with pearls, enamel and garnets of four types. The composition of the enamel is unusual; it was made of organic substances. Pieces like this were found in other tombs in Transylvania and Wallachia and they were made at the end of the 16th c. and the beginning of the 17th c.
