Abstract:
The 2016 campaign used multidisciplinary investigations in SC/pP in order the highlight the evolution of the Boian culture, representing the beginning of the anthropic occupation of the Hîrşova-tell. New samples were obtained in order to gather additional data concerning the evolution of the tell in prehistoric times. We have studied the remains of two dwellings (SL 112 and 113) that did not burn down attributed to the final phase in the evolution of the Boian culture. They stand out also due to the manner in which they were constructed and also due to the surfaces built. The two had the same emplacement and spatial orientation. In the case of SL 112 we noticed voluntary, partial destruction of the platform before the dwelling was definitively abandoned. The data contribute to a better understanding of the behaviour of the Boian communities as they transitioned to the Gumelnița culture. It is noted that this process remains schematic if studied solely from the point of view of ceramic, but it is more obvious from the point of view of resource management. The archaeozoological studies and also those focused on the lithic materials have proven that the process was much more complex than what we had thought so far. We have here the evidence for an evolution with different rhythms and ones that have greatly contributed to this transformation.
