Abstract:

Sultana Malu Roşu is one of the most spectacular sites belonging to Gumelniţa culture and generally to Eneolithic Age. The tell-settlement is placed on Iezerul Mostiştei Lake shore at 15 km north of the Danube Valley. The archaeological researches were restarted in 2001 with the discovery of interesting complexes, for example the house no. 2, with a rich archaeological inventory. Inside the house there was discovered, among other things, a burnt clay structure. maybe a sort of bench. Near it there was discovered a clay box with a big size stone, having a nat upper part, which was fit in the clay box. This object was found in secondary position, under it there were discovered loom weights of burnt clay and vessel fragments. It was recovered from the site and partially rebuilt in the laboratories of Lower Danube Museum-Călăraşi.
